1. Shenandoah National Park, Virginia (Approx. 4 hours): Bonus! Luray Caverns are just a short drive away too!

Nestled along the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park is a nature lover’s paradise. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands, this park offers scenic drives along Skyline Drive, hiking trails to stunning waterfalls, and a chance to spot diverse wildlife. The famous Luray Caverns are close by and provide even more activities for your traveling party!

2. Acadia National Park, Maine (Approx. 8 hours): Check out Bar Harbor, ME while you’re in the area!

For a true coastal adventure, head northeast to Acadia National Park. Rocky shores, picturesque lighthouses, and Cadillac Mountain’s summit views await you. Enjoy hiking, biking, and kayaking against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. The historic Town of Bar Harbor is adjacent to the park and there’s pretty much always something happening that’s worth checking out!

3. Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee/North Carolina (Approx. 10 hours):

As the most visited national park in the U.S., the Great Smoky Mountains offer a diverse range of experiences. From lush forests and historic buildings to scenic drives and wildlife viewing, this park has something for every RVer. With Gatlinburg in the same area, there’s no shortage of things to do! 4. Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland/Virginia (Approx. 3 hours):

Hold your horses! Ok…Well, don’t hold the horses here. That’s illegal, dangerous, and definitely not a good idea; but, they’re really pretty to look at! If you’re craving a coastal escape, Assateague Island is a unique destination. Famous for its wild horses, sandy beaches, and serene marshes, it’s a perfect spot for relaxation and water-based activities. *Pro-tip: The Horses are scheduled for their 99th annual swim from Assateague to Chincoteague in July 2024. If you want to see it, it’s best to plan well in advance!

5. Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio (Approx. 6 hours):

Just west of Philadelphia, you’ll find Cuyahoga Valley National Park, an unexpected gem featuring waterfalls, rolling hills, and the historic Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. It’s an ideal blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Plus! The park will be in the The Total Solar Eclipse path in April, 2024.
